You Never Know What's Happening Next!
Today the guys at The Shelter bequeathed me with a gazillion or so mangoes. There is no way I can eat all of them, so I decided I need to give some away. I went out on the street to buy my supper, and when I came back to my room, I saw the door next to my apartment was open, and a girl inside invited me in to chat. It turns out her name is Joy, my middle name.
When I returned to my room, I remembered the mangoes, and decided to offer some to her. She was in the middle of cooking supper for some of her friends, 2 of whom were already there. Of course, they insisted I stay to eat with them, but I tried to tell them that I already had supper. Let's just say it didn't work.:0 We had a marvelous time sitting and eating and attempting to carry on a conversation.

As we were eating, my two students arrived for English class. Of course, they got invited right in too, and we were there until about 8:00 before we managed to excuse ourselves to walk back next door to study English. By 10:00 we finished studying, and I walked my two friends out.
When I returned upstairs, the party next door was still going on, so I ended up rejoining the group for about 45 minutes. Two more guests had arrived: the boyfriend of Joy, and his older brother. Joy's boyfriend had had more than enough to drink; he kept trying to ask me questions, and they kept telling me he was "ngom", or something like that. I think it has the idea of being a bit inebriated.
At any rate, I really enjoyed mingling with them. I hope that we can continue to build a friendship. They all were really sweet.
