Roller Coasters

Roller coasters--I feel like I've been on a few emotinonal ones lately! Transition time is upon me full force! Yesterday (Saturday) was my last day to work at Miller's Furniture. Today at Conference (http://www.cmcrosedale.org/events/conference.shtml) a commissioning service took place for those of us soon to be heading out to various countries. Tomorrow, and maybe for the rest of the week, I will be sorting and packing. Saturday I will drive to PA, where I will visit family and friends for a couple weeks before heading back to Ohio for a week and a half. September 5, at 8:00 PM, I am scheduled to fly out of Columbus.

I Spy and Other News

Years ago I heard a radio preacher talk about looking for the "I Spy's" in our lives; others call them God sightings. At any rate, it is those little--or big--reminders of God's loving care. Today I had an I Spy. I visited the nurse at the travel medicine office regarding important immunizations. She discovered in the course of the conversation that my reason for going to Thailand was missions. When it came time to pay the bill, she waived the $40 consulting fee! I am grateful for the unexpected ways God shows His loving care.

Regarding language school, I am in the process of enrolling at the Union Language School (ULS) in Bangkok, which meets Monday-Friday, from 8 am to 12 noon. There is an hour commute one-way from where I will be living, so I will be on the road a couple hours a day as well.

Anticipated departure date is September 6. Prior to that I will be spending about 2 1/2 weeks in PA with family and friends. And in between all that I will be sorting and packing! Time is flying by rapidly now!
