Thai Trivia:)

As I was waiting to give plasma at the plasma center tonight, I was reading a book about Thailand from the Culture Shock series. I'm learning that social status is very important in this country. People smile a lot, in part because confrontation is seen as bad; so smiling covers over the situation. Smiles or nods may also be used in place of saying thank you. One other fact is that many Thai people are easy to talk to but hard to get to know. Something to pray about would be that God would enable our team to learn how to get below the surface as we relate to people.
